Gift Cards: How to turn these easy-to-get little bundles into freakin great gifts

Posted by Erin Ryan on Dec. 8, 2015

Raise your hand if you've ever felt a little short in the creative/loving department when choosing to give someone a gift card?

I have. But I'm here to tell you that just a few simple moves can turn these easy-to-get little bundles into freaking great gifts.

How? It’s all about adding a little flair for uniqueness, message and heft.

Secret sauce: Match the gift with the intent and nail the delivery.

Let's take two strong gift card examples... food and clothes.

With a food gift card like one of ours, you're giving yumminess yes, but also some time back to savor... time maybe they'll use for some journaling, or to go experience something new at which time they'll inevitably need coffee!

Going with a clothing card? Maybe you whet the whistle a little (and encourage some more adventurous choices) with a pair of fun socks?

It's all about the delivery

Whatever route you choose, don’t forget about the packaging …any of the ideas above would look great nested in bright green or red tissue paper. Add a few handfuls of cotton balls for a fluffy snow effect. Tape down the GC in the perfect spot and send.

And if you’re going the pure electronic route, you can still get some sentiment and flair in there with an accompanying card like the one we whipped up for PS Gift Cards below or a little hand typed ditty including why you chose that particular GC.

Now get to work and get creative with it. Key takeaways, think about your GC receiver. How can you add a dash of your personality or theirs for a personal touch? Desired result, you present an unsuspecting little package of joy they won't forget. If you’re stumped on how to package your GC I’m up for the challenge. Hit me up here.

If a food gift card strikes your fancy, cool deal going on right now, get a $15 credit to your Power Supply account when you buy a $100 or more Power Supply gift card for the yum seeker on your list.

Happy Gift Carding,

Erin
