Hard to think of something we dig more than sharing yummy food with interesting people and gabbing about the experience. We got to do just that recently in the latest of our #mypowermoment tastings.
Anna Bran Leis of DC Empanadas, one of the super talented chefs in the community of independent local food makers (restaurants, caterers, food trucks, etc.) we work with, brought over some of her wicked tasty creations. We were joined by Power Supply Maven Madeline Dolente (more on her story next week) and friends to taste, comment and generally chat away on all things food.
On the menu was southwest quinoa salad, jicama apple slaw, cumin lime chicken with cilantro salsa, and coconut macaroons. Hits all around, but perhaps highest on the ooh and ahh list was the simplicity and yum of the coconut macaroon recipe. Here 'tis in case you want to give it a whirl on your own:
Thanks Chef Anna for sharing some of your food wisdom with us. You too Madeline and crew, so fun to nosh and gab.
