Another cool story of change (and resulting tips) to share this week… this time from Dana Monsees’ of Real Food with Dana who went looking for dietary answers to why she was feeling so crummy and came up with some pretty life altering stuff... from the physical to the professional and beyond.

Staying in touch with your eating and moving "Why"...
Posted by Robert Morton on 6/30/15 11:59 AM
Funny how certain small moments remind you of big “why’s” in your life.
So I’m pecking away at the computer the other night, the skies are sobbing with rain…like buckets of water slopping down… and my 10 year old wakes, comes downstairs, spooked. “Daddy, I’m scared. If I sleep on the sofa can you carry me up when you go to bed?”

Nothing’s more fun for us than helping you get to know the great local chefs in the Power Supply network cooking your food each week. Particularly true this summer when you can get your name in the hat for a private tasting with one of the chefs for you and 5 friends by sharing your small eating and moving wins in our #mypowermoment campaign (easy and fun to do).
Today, we’re dishing on Chef David the newest addition to the local chef network here in the DC-MD-VA area and the chef some lucky local eater will win a tasting with this month. Executive Chef at lots of cool spots including Balducci’s, he’s now setting the culinary course at Arlington Rooftop Bar and Grill where we caught up with him for a quick cooking demo on a quick and tasty local seafood dish (recipe below).

On sharing small wins and your own private tasting
Posted by Robert Morton on 5/12/15 12:17 PM
Anybody else feeling the need for some new bits of inspiration, some fresh how-to nuggets right about now on the eating and moving fronts?
The structured stuff of the New-yearsy period has come and gone. School will soon let out. Summer life is on the brain, but still pretty far out. All in all sort of a tweener spot in the calendar when it comes to doing stuff that’ll help you feel great.
High time we think for getting a little shareapalooza going on small wins. Those little steps each of us takes that might lead to bigger changes… steps that if shared might spark something for a fellow traveler looking to shake things up too.
Here's how to play…

Bike Like A Girl – Inspiring from Cali to Annapolis
Posted by Robert Morton on 5/5/15 8:08 AM
Hard to think of something that fires our engines more than stories of folks who’ve dialed in their eating and moving, seen great things happen in their lives as a result, and provided some inspiration for others along the way.
None better in that category than the one we want to share today… the tale of Bike Like a Girl, an awesome group of cyclists setting out to become just the second 8-woman team to conquer the 3,020 mile (yes, thousand) Race Across America from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD.

Easy to make, hard-working tortillas/wraps
Posted by Robert Morton on 4/17/15 12:11 PM
One of the things I missed most when I started avoiding flour was that paragon of versatility… the soft tortilla/wrap. From crepes, to burritos to soft tacos and enchiladas, a good wrap opens up so many tasty and easy to prepare goodies.

This week we officially got Power Supply rolling in LA with a collection of awesome new chefs from that community, bringing the number of independent food talents we work with from coast to coast to eleven (any Spinal Tap fans in the house... picturing Christopher Guest describing how his amp volume goes to 11?).
